12 Jul Epsom Film and Dance Night – a triumph!
I went to the Film and Dance Night at Epsom College, last night, Thursday July 10th.
I helped with the food: it included various sandwiches, crisps, sausages, sausage rolls, cakes and biscuits. The Mayor of Epsom ate one of the egg sandwiches! I was pleased.
Films included Amandla, on Nelson Mandela’s life; The History of Disability In Surrey film; a dance about the sea by the Thursday group; two items from Cold and Wet; Luke T’s song, Dear Johnny; and Zena and Richard’s dance, called Tomorrow. There was also a film celebrating 25 years of The Freewheelers; I am a founding member, along with Viv, Andrea and Rachael!
There was also A Cream Cracker Under the Settee, starring Terri; Breaking Bonnie, a spoof detective film and play, by the Tuesday group; the song Happy, by Will Farrell; and my play (made into a film) Upright and Grovling, plus other items.
Audience included my mum (who sat next to me), the Mayor of Epsom, various Freewheelers like Mathew, James, Soufyan, and ex-members Nicky Alcorn, Mark and David.
In conclusion, I thought it was a really good show and I hope the rest would agree?
