My name is Matthew James, I’ve been at Freewheelers for 10 years. I’m 35 years old, and I love Classical and Opera music. I have cerebral palsy. At Freewheelers I do acting and music. I am also a Trustee of the Company.
I first came across Freewheelers at Dorincourt, I don’t ever want to leave. I don’t think there is any other company that does so many different things. It is such a great company to be with.
Freewheelers mean so much to me. It means we can get together and all work as a team. I have been able to challenge myself and I have learnt a lot of new skills.
One of my favourite memories was making a film with the Media group called ‘The Matthew James Experience’, about everything I got up to that year, being a volunteer for the 2012 Paralympics.
My first memories of performing on stage with Freewheelers was in Samurai, a production that Viv directed, and I watched it again recently. I remember taking it to a theatre in Watford, it was so much fun and a memory I will have forever.
