VISUAL ARTS

Painting, sculpting, drawing and other art forms are a great way of experimenting with your ideas, you can take inspiration from anywhere.

We welcome all budding and experienced artists to our visual arts group where you can:

  • Create brand new pieces of work

  • Exhibit online and in local venues

  • Put a Freewheelers spin on classic fine art

  • Make backdrops and pieces of set for our theatre performances

Following an MA from The Royal College of Art I started my career in lighting design, working on projects for clients, including Alan Aybourne and Elton John. A lifelong passion for theatre resulted in directing for various companies and realising that inclusive theatre was the most exciting space to work in, this is now my main focus. I have been working with Freewheelers for 14 years.

I passionately believe that access to the arts can give everyone a sense of their place in the world,  that we should hear many voices and stories and that there are no barriers in our imagination.  At Freewheelers we work across all art forms to find a combined language that is accessible to all participants and audiences alike. Together we have a great time, we laugh, we’re highly creative and there is huge generosity in every workshop and rehearsal room we share. I am constantly amazed by the support within the group, and I believe our time together changes us all for the better.
